Sports Bra to the Rescue for Stranded Hiker Jessica Bruinsma

They always say if you’re lost in the woods to tie a colorful piece of clothing to a tree to signal rescue. Well 24-year-old Jessica Bruinsma did just that when she tied her sports bra to a logging cable after being trapped on a ledge for three days in the German Alps.

EuroGames Participants Favor Montreal In 2006

In a survey held among the participants of EuroGames Munich by The European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF), over half of the participants said they will participate in the Outgames in Montreal in 2006. By contrast, less than ten percent of the respondents said they will be participating in the Gay Games in Chicago.

Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation Debuts On European Continent

The Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation (GLRF) brings its ReadyAllBoats! 2004 global campaign to continental Europe with the GLRF Munich City Launch this week. The purpose of the event, held in conjunction with the EuroGames 2004, is to increase GLRF's visibility and membership in Europe and to celebrate the official designation of rowing as a core sport of the EuroGames.

With the raising of the Rainbow Flag the 2004 EuroGames officially began Thursday. Nearly 8,000 LGBT athletes from 40 countries marched into Munich's Olympic Stadium for the gala opening ceremonies. For the first time in the history of the EuroGames a member of Germany's Federal Government was on the podium.

European Court Victory For Gay Partners

The European court has ruled that a gay man who was thrown out of his home after his partner died was the victim of unlawful discrimination. The ruling will have significant consequences for lesbians, gay men and bisexuals in the 45 countries under the court's juristiction.
